I'm pretty sure Owl did just what Jin asked, i.e. "erase all witnesses but Samil's asssassins, etc." because he knew Jushua's knight were tracking him (and Owl did understand that). So they were probably not aiming at Yona, but... She just got used as a pretense. :p
