    I think the speculation is that Vermouth made a deal with the demon of incarnation or w/e. To become the next one, or to give his body to him. Perhaps? Or to be one of the demon kings that they killed. That might be why they didnt continue to fight that demon after Hamel died. Probably why he fought senya. Senya probably brought Hamel back as a decendant of Vermouth. Knowing how Hamel was able to be really strong without having crazy talent like Vermouth, but if you put Hamel in Vermouth he probably would surpass him and take him down as the demon king.
