    Even if he's being manipulated all of the good things about him/ his accomplishments are just things other people are saying about him. We haven't actually seen him DO anything brilliant or even halfway competent. Killian keeps saying Cliff is so smart and so much better than him at everything but all the bastard does is thoughtlessly run his mouth without evidence or even a half-baked argument to support what he says. And every time shit goes down he's conveniently away, usually with Lize. For all Cliff's yammering about Edith, he is INCREDIBLY passive about her. From what I can tell he hasn't told anyone to investigate her or even keep an eye on her. Whenever she gets the blame for anything, he quickly jumps on the bandwagon to try and punish her but he never actually tries to prove that she did something wrong. I know he's basically a puppet who can't do anything on his own outside of the story so there's nothing for him to do as it goes off the rails but damn dude. If I thought someone had tried to kill the one I love and my family just let it go I'd be OBSESSED with getting irrefutable proof.
